Girls' Artwork 2010

Aurora LOVES to draw!!  She draws every chance she gets!  Drawing babies is her favorite!  And she is quite good at it, including the head, hair, eyes, nose, smiley face, body, arms, and legs.  The first picture is from back in September.  She drew this picture and then told me that it was Sariah.  The next 4 pictures are from November.  She even traced her hand perfectly!  (Which I wouldn't have believed if I hadn't watched her do it!)  It was amazing!!

The last picture has a story behind it!  During my baby shower, my sister, Liz's, kids came over to play.  When we came home, I noticed the letter "A" written over and over and over on my couch, in fabric marker!!  I panicked because I didn't think it was going to come out!  Grant and Mark didn't know who did it and I was trying to figure it out.  Sariah said, "I saw Aurora carrying that marker around."  Basically, she was caught red-handed... however, I did not believe that it was her for a second.  I thought, there is no way a 2 year old wrote perfect letter "A"s over and over (especially because I have never worked with her on it)!  Tia and Nina never do things like that so I assumed it had to be one of Liz's kids and even asked them if they did it.  Well, luckily, it washed off, and so I just let it go.  A week or two later, I noticed Aurora with a marker (it is tough to keep markers up because the girls use them and leave them down) and then noticed the letter "A" written over and over on her leg!!!  I asked her who wrote those "A"s on her leg and she said, "Rora did," and then pointed to them and said, "My letter" (her name begins with that letter.)  Well, I wasn't sure whether to be mad or extremely impressed!!  I know one thing is for sure, I owe Liz and Mark an apology!  LOL!!  :)

Karina and Tierra enjoy art, as well.  This first picture is of a really cute picture that Karina drew of a ballerina dancing and a stereo with music notes coming out.  Cute!  The other two pictures are from a project Tierra made for school.  (Side note- All of my girls enjoy designing dresses and would like to do that when they grow up.)  Tierra did a great job on her little book about herself!  I love it and treasure it!

Sariah is quite the artist!  It blows me away sometimes, when I see what she has created!!  The first picture, she painted in an art class at school.  The second picture she made at home for her art class.  She took only about 5-10 minutes to draw it and then colored it.  It was amazing how fast she did it!  Even her teacher at school commented that she must've taken a really long time to draw all that detail!  The third picture, she made for a friend.  She cut some pieces off of my broom to glue on the witches broom (without permission- the little stinker!!  LOL!) and then used a feather for the bird.  (I don't know why the picture keeps turning sideways... hmm...)  The fourth picture is a picture she drew on the small magna-doodle, at the dentist.  They were so impressed and said they were keeping it on there forever!!  It was very sweet of them to say!  :)  The fifth and sixth pictures are of drawings for/from her school art class again.  She was really excited for "Tangled" to come out, can you tell??  ;)  (One of the reasons I love their school is because I am not really talented in that way and other teachers can bring that out of her easier.  It's been great!)  The seventh picture, she drew at my parents' house.  The last picture is of her dress designs.  She received a kit for Christmas with a projector that projects different shirts or skirts or whatever but she totally revamps them!!  It is amazing!!  One of these dresses, she made out of a swimsuit!!  I couldn't believe it!  And she created the hair all by herself and picked the colors!  She said she just pictures things in her head, the way they should go, and then she draws/colors.  I am truly blown away by her talent and just hope that I can steer her in the right direction to fully develop this talent (that I wish I had!!)

Riana loves creating things too!  She is always carving pictures into her food or Sariah and her are creating dresses on their dolls, out of toilet paper or tissue paper or scraps of cloth or pretty much whatever they can find!  They also both took a Lego creating class this past quarter, in school, and enjoyed creating many different things for that.  Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to see a lot of those creations because of the cancelled days of school.  Bummer!  (She created this Lego creation at home.)  She also enjoys coloring/drawing and does a great job at it!  She drew this picture of Rapunzel and Flynn, after we went and saw "Tangled."  We all loved the movie!!  :)  Lately, she has enjoyed coloring in her new coloring book and trying to copy the exact colors from the cover or other pictures.  And Sariah even allowed her to use her dress creating kit to make a dress!  She does a great job on her artwork!
