Memorial Day Trip- Part 1
For Memorial Day, we went to Spokane to visit Grant's parents, his brother Phil and family, and also his Aunt Lynn and Grandma, who had both flown out from Florida for the long weekend. We were joined by his brother Aaron and family (from Idaho), and sister Jill and family (also from West WA.)
1) Here is what we saw on the way... lots of pretty waterfalls.
2) Here is what Grant did on the way.
3) Here is what I did on the way.
Grant's sister, Jill, found a really sweet deal on hotels for her family and ours. The room was huge, with two separate rooms, and a living room, kitchen/dining area, and bathroom. The kitchen had a sink, 'fridge, microwave, oven/stove, table, etc. It was a nice hotel, especially for the price. However, the kids were bummed that it didn't have a pool.
The first day, the boys (Grandpa Gene, Grant, Tito, Phil, Aaron, Joshua, and Connor) went fishing. And man was it tasty fish!! YUM!! They breaded it and cooked it up the next day and it was so good!! We were all left wishing for more!
While the guys were fishing, the girls (Grandma Lois, Aunt Lynn, Grandma Shari, Angela, Jill, Shailee, Ali, Paige, Kaiti, Riana, Sariah, Tierra, Karina, Aurora, and Calyssa) walked to the park and spent the day there. We had a great time together! Everyone was so sweet and helped out with my girls, but I especially enjoyed watching Lynn with Calyssa and Aurora, helping them on the toys and pushing them on the swing (I am so bummed that I didn't get a picture... probably because they left early because it was so chilly out there!!) I also enjoyed just chatting with Grandma. After we were done at the park, all 12 of us girls that were left, piled into Jill's 5 seat-er Jeep, to drive the 1/2 mile home... it was hilarious! The girls thought it was so much fun!!
A few other random pictures from the weekend--
1) What my girls like to call "The Cat In the Hat" tower, which happens to be near Grandma and Grandpa's house... they always know we are close when they see it!
2) We also played a soccer game together, at a different nearby park, and of course, the brothers threw the football around.
3) A bed at the hotel, just for the dolls and stuffed animals. Cute!
4) Grandma Lois snuggling with a very tired Callie (complete with her silky and paci- two must haves when putting her to sleep.)
5) Grandma Shari, doing one of the things she does best, decorating cupcakes for the kids... they loved it!! She had every single one of their attention. (She made our wedding cake and did an amazing job! And it was the yummiest cake I have ever had.)
6) Calyssa absolutely loves "dog-dog"s! So she really enjoyed Phil and Michelle's little dog because it was just her size.
