Father's Day- 2012

We tried to spoil our Man all day long on Father's Day, as he deserves, however all he asked for for breakfast was a smoothie. Not sure if that was a braces thing, a trying to save money thing, a trying to save time thing, or maybe just saving room for the later surprises. ;)

He enjoyed the cards, especially the one from his girls!! Here is the "World's Best Dad" with all his little girls!!

Riana and her Daddy share the same favorite candy bar, however she loves him more than KitKats and gave him some of hers for Father's Day.

For lunch, before church, we served him cheesy scrambled eggs, with sausage and hashbrowns!! It was yummy!!

The girls sang with the Primary to their Dads. It was adorable, as always. In Primary, Sis. A. asked Grant to come in and if the kids sang good, she let them cut a piece of his tie off! Grant proudly wore this stub around for the rest of church. Aurora loved being one of the chosen kids to cut his tie!! In fact, she still talks about it now, months later. At the most random times, she will just walk up to Grant and say, "Daddy, remember when I cut yours tie?" So cute!!

Here he is with his dinner (I totally can't remember what kind of white fish it was or how I cooked it, all I remember was that it turned out SO delicious!! Maybe tilapia with lemon juice and a bit of seasoning? That is why I need to be better at blogging, bummer! We had salad and mashed potatoes, on the side.) For dessert, he requested brownies and ice cream, which were also quite yummy!!

That evening, after dinner, we went over and visited my Dad. I loved the cards we found for him. The one from the girls was all pink and frilly, which is totally not him, but it said "From Grandpa's Girls" and I knew he would love that (which he did!) I love the relationship they have! I'm so thankful for my Dad, who loves his family and has always worked hard to provide for us and help make sure we are all well taken care of. He has a good heart! And I love him!

Grant received a couple more gifts-- one that night and one the next day. Sariah and Tierra were so excited to give them to him... I think they all love having something to spoil their Daddy with.

We are so thankful for all the "Dads" in our lives!!

3 Nephi 17:21-24

"21 And when (Jesus) had said these words, he wept, and the multitude bare record of it, and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them.

Our homeschool program!!

My style of homeschooling is "public school at home." We began homeschooling on our own, the 1st year. Then we were enrolled in the Washington Virtual Academy (WAVA) for 3 years. Now we are enrolled in ORLA. Our girls are taking several classes at an Elementary School that is no longer used for a typical Elementary School. Instead 450 homeschooling students (K-12) take classes there with certified teachers (you choose which ones and how many) but you do have to be at the school with them until they are 12 (in another room with toys for the younger kids) or sign them out to a friend. Then you fill in the rest at home. For example, my girls take Music, Art, P.E., and Science at the school 2 days a week and then I teach them Math, Language, and History at home, on the other 3 days. The school also pays for an additional $300 a year of curriculum (like the Math, Lang, Hist.) We do have to keep up with a certain number of hours per week. We also have a "home room teacher" that helps us with everything, like deciding what extra things to do at home and making sure we don't miss anything. We are really enjoying this program-- it truly is the best of both worlds! If you have any questions, email me. :)
