June 2010

Our friends, Jeremy and Maria, (and their kids- Dalton, Aspen, and Aiden) were in town and we decided to take a trip to Northwest Trek.  Unforunately, Sariah became ill at the last minute and so I stayed home with her and Aurora.  I was sad because I really enjoy Maria's company, but felt that Grant needed to go.  (Grant grew up with Jeremy, roomed with him at college, and Jeremy was one of Grant's groomsmen at our wedding.)  They had a fun time and saw lots of new animal babies.  Grant and Karina were the only blondes, as Jeremy and Maria and all their children have red hair.  Pretty fun!  (When Riana was younger, she decided that she was going to marry a redhead so that she too could have all redheaded babies.  Very cute!)  I thought that Grant did a great job taking pictures!!  He took over 100!!  Wow!  These ones were my favorites!  I thought they turned out really cute!  Yeah!  That always makes me happy when he takes lots of pictures!  :)

1) Lincoln came over to play and Aurora loved following him around.  She kept trying to share lolipops, which he wasn't too in to, and just enjoyed being near him.  I thought this picture was very cute!
2) The girls lined up their barbies, because they were playing some game or pretending or something.  I thought it was cute!  You have a lot of barbies at your house, when you have 5 girls!
3) Karina fell asleep, pretty much upside down.  She must've been pretty tired!!

On Father's Day, the girls and I had fun spoiling our man!!  :)  The girls made lots of cards and presents for him.  We bought him a card with 6 baby bears on it.  The girls all signed a bear and even signed one for the baby.  We also made lots of yummy food and even invited my Dad (and Mom) over for dinner and dessert.  It was fun having them!  Hopefully Grant felt our love and appreciation for him, on his special day.  (It was extra hard for me since I was sick in my first trimester.)

Lucky Grant has two special days right in a row- Father's Day and then his birthday.  So we get the chance to spoil him a lot in the month of June.  Here are some pictures from breakfast and some from his party.  I had to throw that second picture in because I laugh every time I see it.  Whenever I take a lot of pictures, Grant starts being a goof ball.  That is his "you want me to smile, okay, I will smile" face.  LOL!!!  The girls loved being able to record a personalized message in the superman card.  They quickly said, in the card, "Happy birthday Daddy!  We love you!  Love, Riana, Sariah, Tierra, Karina, and Aurora... and baby!!"  Each person said their own name (except Aurora) and they added that last part without prompting.  It was very cute!!  (Months later, Aurora carried around that card and copied the message over and over, in her little voice.  It was adorable!)

Sariah's birthday is the day after Grant's.  She was able to pick her favorite foods for all her meals.  We all had fun making homemade pizza for dinner.  For her birthday present, we bought her a new bike, which I am realizing I don't think I took of picture of!!  I can not believe it!!  I am going to have to get a picture of her on her (not so new anymore) bike!  The last 4 pictures are from her presents from Grandma and Grandpa (my parents).  They also gave Tierra hers, late.  (She asked for something that was difficult to find.  Grandma had to look in several stores and finally order it on the internet.  Tia also received little babies, like Sariahs.)  Tierra and Sariah both loved their presents from Grandma and Grandpa.  And Sariah loved her bike too!

1) Tierra loved helping her Daddy mow the lawn.  I used to love mowing the lawn too!  Fun!
2 & 3) Aurora looking super cute!  She loves being outside on her bike.  I think it is because she feels like a big girl.  She is now finally staying on the sidewalk.  (She used to head straight for the road, every time I turned my back.)
Riana took these last three pictures:
4) Some pretty flowers in our flower garden- I love the contrasting colors!
5) Riana's "daughter," Ana, posed in front of the flower garden, with a dressed Sariah styled for her.
6) The wedding of two build-a-bears, complete with flower girls, bridesmaids, and everything.  (Including a few brand new bears, which are pictured below, as well.)

We had a few awesome coupons, a free bear, and owed a few special surprises, so we took the girls to build-a-bear for fun!  Karina and Aurora had never been and I forgot my camera.  So I used my phone's camera to take a few pictures.  Not the best quality, but it works, and I'm thankful I at least had that.  They had a lot of fun.  Aurora especially loved her very own doggy!  (Unforunately, I wasn't able to get pictures of her excitement because I wasn't quick enough.)  Karina really enjoyed building the bear and Aurora's favorite part was giving it a bath.  The girls also chose some outfits and sounds, which they paid for, and they all chose names.  It was a fun afternoon!

Every summer, our friends Mike and Misty (and children- Collin, Trevor, Haydon, and Autumn) stay at a lake, for about a week, that is closer to our house (than where they live, which is still only about 1-2 hours away, but it seems far sometimes.)  We try to join them for a day, each summer, and play at the lake.  The girls had a lot of fun taking a "mud bath" and playing with their animals (a dog and a bunny.)  I'm glad we had the opportunity to visit with them and have some fun together.
