Grant and I found out about a nearby soccer camp, that was featuring Mia Hamm! We were SO excited!! It was way more spendy than we would've liked, but we felt that it was worth it for the girls to meet the world's greatest women's soccer player of all time!!! Talk about once in a lifetime opportunity!! (I think we were a bit more excited than the girls, even though we had talked to them about her before and Riana had been reading her book.) So we signed Riana and Sariah up for the camp.
Riana and Sariah had a ton of fun and learned a lot! Sariah said that Mia Hamm was awesome and was really, really nice! She said Mia had a really peaceful voice, which made Sariah feel more comfortable around her. Sariah also had fun catching a frog with Mia. She says that during the camp she learned how to kick better. Riana thought it was really cool to get her T-shirt and her book autographed by Mia Hamm. She says that during the camp she learned how to juggle the ball better and some cool shooting techniques. I have to admit, it was pretty awesome to watch our girls playing soccer with Mia Hamm. (She also gave an inspirational speech to all the kids.) I'm glad we signed them up. :)
