July 2010- Part 2

We almost didn't have a team for summer soccer, given what happened at the end of spring soccer.  However, we were able to combine with the remaining girls from a team that our old assistant coach took a bunch of players from, and pick up their coach, Scott, as well, to help Grant.  (They worked so well together and really had a common view for the team.)  We were also given a few girls who were new to soccer and a few girls who drove from Ocean Shores, to be on our team for the summer (apparently, OS does not have teams in the summer.  Izzy was our top scorer for the summer and even scored 3 goals within the first 3 minutes of one game.  I had a great time visiting with Riley's Mom and Riley's Dad helped as another assistant coach, which was great.)  We also had one girl from Riana's primary class, Gracie, join our team.  It was a fun season and the girls learned a lot.  I don't remember how many games we won but I know it was a winning season (we won more than we lost, which is great.)  At the end of the season awards, Alexis's mom, Angela (our amazing team manager), brought some awesome cupcakes!  Riana was awarded, "Most Creative Dribbler," and Sariah was awarded, "Great Ball Control."  It was a fun season, and thankfully, was free from drama.  ;)

We had the chance to have one of the girls' favorite friends stay with us for a few days.  We were able to have all kinds of fun!!  The first night, the girls did makeovers.  The older girls had so much fun making everyone fancy!  The next day, we went to cousin Laurel's birthday party.  Each of the girls picked out a little something to give her for her birthday.  They were so proud of their gift.  Lolo especially liked Sariah's gift of purple gloves, which apparently she had been asking for at the store.  The girls also had fun swimming with their cousins, at their neighborhood pool.  Over the week, we also played princess board games, played musical chairs, set up an obstacle course of fun in the backyard, ate some fun treats, and built the coolest fort ever, that covered the living room, then slept/played in it for several days.  (Unforunately, Aimee was very, very homesick.  Her Mom, Dad, and older brother were on a Pioneer Trek and her two sisters and other brother went to their Grandma's house in Oregon.  She wanted to come to our house but was really missing her family.  So on Thursday night when we went to play practice, she chose to go home with her Aunt, Uncle, and cousins.  Our girls were sad but they understood.)

1-4) We went up to visit with Grant's grandpa, who was sick and in the hospital.  Grant's Aunt and Uncle and cousin Missy were also there, from California.  They invited us back to swim at their hotel.  So we ran to Walmart and picked up some cheap bathing suits and went swimming.  It was a lot of fun.
5) Before we went swimming, we ate dinner at Red Lobster.  We all got a kick out of Grant wearing a bib.  Hilarious!
6) Karina and Aurora fell asleep next to each other, on the stairs, and in matching dresses too.  It was very cute!
7 & 8) Aurora playing on my Ipod, which she thinks is hers.  She is such a little charmer!
9) I found a few pictures on the camera, which Tierra took herself!  Silly girl!
