A Visit from Friends- August 2010

Our good friends, Dan, Celeste, and girls, came in from Kansas for a couple of days, and they requested that we visit one of our favorite camping spots.  Some more good friends also came to join in the fun (Grant, Vanessa, and kids plus an extra kid, Austin, and Kyle, Allison, and girls came for the night, and Jason and Jennifer and kids and some of Dan and Celeste's other friends came just for the day and/or evening.)  Here are some pictures from our fun, camping at the lake:
1) Two friends, Lilly and Sariah, talking on the dock, 2) Aurora getting a little too brave- thank goodness for lifejackets!, 3) Cute little Colette sunbathing, just like big sister, Lilly, 4) Celeste with the babies, Colette and Aurora (just sitting in the boat, without it moving, was good enough for them), 5) The kids had a lot of fun fishing with their Daddys and they actually caught quite a few (which I'm pretty sure we added to our dinner), 6) Aurora getting way too brave!, 7) Riana jumping out of the boat ride with Sariah, Ashlyn, Lilly, Karina, and Dan's friend, 8) Riana jumping off the tower with Trieste getting ready to jump next, 9) Friends eating and chatting around the fire, 10) I asked Aurora what this picture was and she said, "That my Caleb."  She loves Caleb!  Caleb serenading us.  11) The only picture of me from the weekend, I stole it from Jen's blog.  Not quite fitting my pregnant self in that little chair... LOL!  12) Probably my favorite moments from the campout, we layed under the stars and watched the meteor shower, including one incredibly bright and stunning shooting star (or something!)  We even had a few of the kids singing for us, while we watched.  It was pretty neat!  13) Aurora snuggling with "Nessa," 14) Caleb and Logan walking with Aurora and lifting her.  She loved it!  (They were getting ready to leave for our cast party, which is why they were wearing those shirts-- a joke for the director, JoLee.)  15) Tia and Ella being brave and swimming in their lifejackets, 16) Aurora and Karina snuggling with "Uncle Grant"- just our friend but they like to call him Uncle Grant, probably because their Daddy is also Grant and their cousins all call him Uncle Grant (Aimee and Lilly swimming nearby), 17) Aurora fell asleep on Vanessa, 18 & 19) The wind blew Hailey really far out and her Daddy, Grant, swam halfway across the lake to rescue her.  It was very cute and quite impressive!  Tons of people on the shore were talking about how they were impressed!  :)  20) We weren't planning on having lunch but we ended up throwing all the extra food together and somehow had enough for everyone and some to spare.  It was a really fun camping trip and we are so glad our friends made the effort to drive all the way from Kansas to visit!

After the campout, we rushed back to attend Stake Conference with visiting apostle, Dallin H. Oaks.  Grant was also in charge of the men's choir for the night.  (I also wrote a post all about Stake Conference, back in August.)  1) On the way home, we stopped to get a quick car wash (which was about to expire.)  Aurora absolutely hated that!  She was so scared!  It was sad and kind of funny because she was so cute!  (I guess we won't be getting our car washed with her in it, for a while.)  2) We were able to get some of our favorite babysitters for the night, cousins, Hannah and Brooke.  They are so amazing!  We came home to 11 happy little girls, who were fed, bathed, all with double braids in their hair, and a clean house, and they wouldn't let us pay them because we were at church.  Oh how I love those two!  3) Aurora entertaining everyone with her somersaults.  So cute!  4, 5, & 6)  The Braidy Bunch (minus Hailey, who went home with her Mom), 7, 8, & 9) Sleeping friends-- Tierra and Ella (it was a really hot night), Lilly and Sariah, and Trieste and Riana (above them are the glowing stars the girls put up around the house.)
