I Can't Wait Until I'm 8!!

In our church and in our family, 8 is a very important age for many reasons!

1) Activity Day Girls- Girls ages 8-11 are in a group (kind of like girl scouts or mini youth group) where the girls all meet together and make crafts and play games and eat treats... just a fun time together!  Well, all of Karina's friends have been in Activity Days for some time (a few months) and she has been waiting and waiting and waiting... Worst of all, the adorable blonde lady (the kids call her and her hubby, Barbie and Ken, and are completely in love with her), who goes to our church, and is Karina's Primary teacher, happens to live behind us, and happens to be one of the leaders.  Well, about a month before Karina's birthday, they happened to have the activity at her house, in her kitchen, which you can see from Karina's bedroom window.  So guess where I found Karina that afternoon...
So you can imagine how excited she was when she was able to attend her first activity, 2 days after her birthday!!

She was very excited!!!

Here she is right before she left with Tia and their good friend, Hailey.  Karina had a wonderful time with Avery, sisters Alaina and Alyssa (who love coming even though they aren't Mormons and the girls love having them), Hailey, and Katie (a few girls were missing that week.)  They made adorable Turkey decorations (their other leader, Kira B worked very hard to get everything all ready for that activity, and they turned out amazing!  I should've taken a picture!  They are all packed up in the Holiday decor.)

2) Having a birthday is always fun!

For breakfast, she chose... "lots and lots of big sprinkle donuts,... fresh fruit parfaits,... and bacon, of course!!"  She had the added bonus of getting her birthday song from not only her family but her friend, Hailey, too, who comes over to ride to school with us on school days.
For lunch, she chose lunchables, a pizza one for herself, to eat at school!  In her "Stories and Snacks" class, they made cute little turkey treats.  After school, she brought some cookies, that her Daddy picked out, to share with her dance class.
For dinner, she wanted Teriyaki chicken, egg rolls, and sushi (California rolls.)  Yummy!!

After dinner, she stayed up for an extra special ice cream treat with her Daddy... I don't think she even really cared what the treat was.  She was just so excited to be able to spend one-on-one time with her Daddy.  :)
3) Special date to go shopping for her pattern and material for her Baptism dress with Mommy and Grandma.

Karina had so much fun picking out her dress!  And then we picked up a bite to eat afterwards!
4) Then of course, getting baptized by her Daddy and wearing that special dress on her special day.

5) And then, getting pictures taken with her Daddy at JCPenneys, while on a special date with just her and Mommy and Daddy, ending with dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and a special gift from her Daddy.

Pretty special birthday, wouldn't you say?
