Dance Performances 2011

Although we didn't make it to all of their performances, because we were at Tia and Nina's last soccer game receiving their medals, we still had fun at the Fun Fair anyway.  We had the chance to go on a few bouncy/blow-up structures (which made me a bit nervous with their expensive! costumes on) and to play some video games in our neighbors business trailer (his business is basically coming to people's parties with his trailer full of electronics/video game equipment.)  Also, we had their friend, Aimee, with us.  After playing for a bit, we ran off to Riana, Sariah, and Aimee's soccer game.

PS- Notice Karina's cheek... poor girl!  She went to the Father/Son outing with Grant and Tia, just for the afternoon.  The men were playing a game of baseball and she took a line drive to the cheek.  OUCH!  It swelled and then bruised pretty bad!

After their dance pictures, I took a few shots of our girls (Aurora isn't in dance yet but wore an old costume from around here), Nina and her buddy/cousin Lolo (aren't they cute??), and of our girls' classes.  I didn't take any of Riana's class because I thought she would be embarrassed, but she was actually sad that I didn't.  Whoops.  Next time, I will just ask her- lesson learned.

PS- I was a bit disappointed with the sleeves and backs of their costumes this year, especially Karina's  (not Riana's.)  I tried very hard to find a nude colored leotard but nobody sells them in our community and I didn't have enough time (once I was healthy) to get one online.  I did find a sleeveless one (in an XS adult size) for Karina's, which at least covered the holes in the back of her costume, which was the worst part, in my opinion.  But oh well, I guess they could be much, much worse... in fact, most dance studios are.  Michelle does try really hard to choose ones that are modest.

The girls did great at their end of the year recital, as well.  I took most of these pictures at the dress rehearsal- that is why you see a few heads popping up in the audience... LOL!!  :)  After the recital, our extended family went to Dairy Queen for a treat.  Fun times!  PS- Doesn't Calyssa look cute with blue hair?  (Riana dances to a song called, "Blue" and they all wear blue wigs, blue shirts, and blue make-up.)
