For winter quarter at school, the girls took some fun classes...
Riana and Sariah had all the same classes- they loved that! :)
Draw to Write (learned to draw cartoon figures and wrote stories about them)
Folktale Theatre (pictured above- The last day, they put on a play. Riana was the rhino and Sariah was the leopard or something. Riana and Sariah made up their own costumes.)
Come On and Sing (their final performance was cancelled due to power outage one week and snow the next)
PE
Tierra had these classes...
Beginning Kid Graphics (They learned about making graphics on the computer.)
Animal Adventures (They learned about a new animal every week.)
Come On and Sing (Karina loves participating in this class with her sisters.)
Books Alive (pictured above- they learned about, and did a craft, for a new book every week. The last week, they had the chance to share a craft of their own from their favorite book. Tierra chose, "The Best Nest. The picture shows her sharing her painting with her class and Karina too.)
*I enjoy working out on our Wii Fit. It is a lot of fun and you can burn about 300 calories per hour that you are playing. Pretty cool! Here I am with my four oldest daughters, doing karate. :)
*I also cut several inches off of my hair in March. It is so nice to have healthy hair again. Also, it is much easier to fix.
1) Sariah made a model ship and it was SO good! It looked better than the one on the box! I was totally impressed.
2) The surprises Daddy brought home, after he was gone on a business trip for a few days. He said that he always wanted one when he was growing up. (Gummy Rodents... great huh?) The girls got a real kick out of them!
3) Sariah built this leprechaun trap, all by herself, just for fun. And ended up finding some gold coins in it on St. Patricks Day, to share with her sisters.
4) A late Christmas present for Karina from her Primary teachers, since she was sick on the day they gave it out.
5) Sariah made the Lincoln Memorial on paper, in her school class, and then at home, out of blocks.
6) Tierra got a pumpkin shaped onion ring and thought it was pretty neat.
7) Riana wanted to take a picture of her last piece of Christmas candy and I wanted to take a picture of my favorite shirt of hers.
In March, Grant went on a hike with his friends, Brady and Caleb. They had a lot of fun just talking and spending time together, on White Pass.
My baby brother, Joe, turned 18 in March! Crazy! We all decided to bring him balloons at school. (I have actually wanted to do this for years and for other brothers too, but I thought they would be too embarrased, so I didn't do it before. I had this done for me and loved it but thought that guys wouldn't like it. But my Mom payed for it and my sister, Liz, took them to him... I arrived just a little too late. But he definitely knew that his whole family loves him!) He loved the balloons (and cookies) and loved carrying them around. (The office even asked if he wanted to leave them there and he said, no. It was so cute!) He said that even strangers told him, Happy Birthday. So fun!! After school, all his nieces and nephews made some cool signs/pictures for his door. And helped Grandma make pizza, especially Tia and Rori. Grandma also made one cool Pokemon cake (Joe knew that would impress his nieces and nephews, who love Pokemon.) I'm pretty sure all 19 of them were there and they all love Joe! He is one cool uncle! In fact, we all love Joe!! :) Still can't believe he is 18!
My friend gave me a Mindy Gledhill CD, a few months back. I really enjoyed the songs on her CD and one even made me cry! It was the song she wrote for NieNie- Stephanie Nielson, who was burned in a plane accident and is an inspiring woman! Anyway, when Mindy came to Lacey, in March, I had the pleasure of attending her concert with Riana, Karina, and my Mom. And oh my goodness, I totally fell in love with her!! How could you not? Her voice was even more incredible in person! It sounded even better than her CD!! Amazing!! And to top it off, her personality was so fun! She was hilarious!! And with the extra bit she explained about each song, I fell in love with each and every song she sang, as well. She is LDS but does not sing religious songs, therefore I think anyone would enjoy and fall in love with her too!! :) Whenever I'm having a tough day, or I'm stressed out, or I need a cleaning day, I just turn her music on and it makes me happy! Her music totally relaxes me! I just love it!! I also love that my girls now run around singing every word of her songs! It is great! Well worth the money! If she comes to Lacey again, I'm telling all my friends to come!
Visit her website, and click on music, and you can click on each song to get a little taste of her style.
