The first one, on Thursday, was with my friend, Rachel, and her kids (Renee, Paige, and Chase), and their cousins and friends. The kids enjoyed running around outside her house, hunting for eggs. The older kids were so sweet and really helped with the younger kids, and therefore, only found a couple eggs each. (But they were okay with that- which made it even sweeter.) The girls especially liked the little tiny, squishy guys (Squinkies), they found in some of the eggs, in addition to the money and candy, which is always good. :) We really appreciated the invite and had a really good time!
The next day, Friday, Riana and Sariah were invited to attend a really unique Easter Egg Hunt. It was a dark/flashlight Easter Egg Hunt- pretty cool idea! They went over to their friends, Savannah and Autumn's house for the hunt. (I told them they sure are lucky to be friends with two girls who have an awesome Mom who is always planning these kinds of parties-- Easter, Halloween... you name it! And I promise, I am not just saying that because she reads my blog! They are so lucky to be invited to all those awesome parties- cause Jen doesn't know how to do anything but awesome!) Anyway, after the hunt, they were so totally excited to give me a play by play of everything and were especially excited to tell me about the "special" eggs. After the hunt, in which they were each able to find 20 eggs (I believe), whomever had the 3 "special" marked eggs, won special prizes. The first person won Cotton Candy, and the second and third people won $5 each!! Well, guess what?? Riana and Sariah both got the eggs that were marked for the money!! WOW! Pretty amazing? I told them that they must've done something good to receive those extra blessings! (PS- Thanks for the pictures, Jen!) She also served "dirt" (I believe it is pudding and oreos and maybe gummy worms) in a cup, for dessert, with pretty flowers on top.
On Saturday, we headed over to my parent's house. Following dinner, we had our third hunt with my family (everyone except Liz's family.) We even caught the Easter Bunny hiding the eggs!
The kids had a lot of fun and were able to find eggs inside and outside too. My nephew, Cohen, had his first real Easter, where he was able to find eggs. His Daddy (Dan) helped him. Cohen was so excited!! It was adorable! Calyssa and Ruth had fun discovering each other. My sister in law, Jolie, made some really yummy desserts. One of them was chocolate cupcakes in the cutest little flower wrappers! But my favorite part of the hunt was the eggs, one for each kid, which included a little lamb and some scriptures from Grandma and Grandpa, about the true meaning of Easter. Just Grandma being thoughtful, yet again. I sure appreciate her!
