Most years, we spend Christmas Eve with family. This year, it was just us. So we decided to start some new traditions and continue some old ones.
Our first new tradition, was to read a Christmas book every hour, on the hour. The girls absolutely loved it and kept saying, "Is it time to read another story yet?" Even Daddy came in for all the stories. He read, "Polar Express" for the girls. We all got a good laugh from his silliness.
I, on the other hand, cried through almost every story I read... I don't know what my problem was that day... I wasn't even pregnant or anything... LOL!! Some of our favorite stories are: "A Christmas Dress for Ellen," "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day (the real story behind the song)," "Twas The Night Before Christmas," and "Christmas is Here- Pop-up Book."

After dinner, we decorated the Gingerbread House (something we do every year, but I think this was the first time on Christmas Eve.) This year, the girls were excited to decorate a Gingerbread Train, as well.
Many hands make light work?? ;) LOL!!!
Aurora and Calyssa (I think more of hers made it in her mouth than on the actual house... LOL!) eating the candy. I wonder where they learned how to do that???
Oh! That's where!! LOL!!! Silly Daddy!
Time to make cookies for Santa... Homemade Almond Roca!! It turned out perfectly!! Yummy!!
...Along with some milk... And lots and lots of carrots for the reindeers. (I forgot to take a picture of the treats for Santa and the reindeer, but luckily the girls took one.)
And lastly, our favorite Christmas Eve tradition... opening Christmas Pajamas...
See next post.
