13 Going on 30... or 35

"For some 13 feels like it was just yesterday... For Jenna, it was."
This movie is about a 13 year old girl who wants so desperately to fit in with the cool girls and is willing to be mean to her real friend, Matt, to be cool.  Then she gets embarrassed and wishes to be 30.  She gets her wish and becomes 30.  She looks up her friend, Matt, and realizes she really cares about him.  Unfortunately, he has moved on and is about to get married to someone else.  She wishes that she could go back and change the choices of her past.  I just love the message of the movie.  (Although we don't own it because it is rated PG-13, mostly because of one inappropriate part.)

"13 Going on 30" is one of my favorite movies. I think because I relate to it a lot. I cared a lot about being cool in my early teens (which doesn't seem that long ago.)   Luckily, I learned a little quicker and stopped caring by the middle of high school and was able to grow up a bit before making the really big decisions in my life.  Thank goodness!

Well, the funniest thing happened to me the other day, that made me think about this movie... well, mostly just the title... here is what happened...

January 3 Facebook Post

"So a meat salesman came to my door earlier. When I answered it, he said, 'Is the lady of the house home... you know, is your Mom or Dad home?'  To which I replied, 'I am the lady of the house.'  'What??? You look about 13!!'  'Umm... okay! Thanks?'  After I shut the door, I looked over to see my 12 and 13 year olds rolling in laughter... 'Well, Mommy, I guess we are the same age.'  LOL!"

It was seriously SO hilarious!!
