Christmas Day

Christmas morning, the kids were super excited to go downstairs!  However, we made them wait for a bit until Grandma and Grandpa and everyone were ready.  They weren’t too happy about it… at least not Aurora.  It was worth the wait though… They loved all their presents!  Calyssa especially loved her cute little doggy book.  Aurora loved her Rapunzel dishes.  Karina loved her purple nail polish.  Tierra loved her very own suitcase.  Sariah loved her Artist Studio.  And Riana loved her Hunger Games socks and bandaids.  Some special surprises in their stockings included “cuties” (tiny oranges/tangerines), gum, hair things, flossers, flexible soccer CTR rings, and more.  We had lots of fun.  Callie enjoyed brushing Daddy’s hair with Aurora’s Rapunzel brush.  Grant enjoyed a little treat with Bella the Dog.   And Shailee enjoyed helping the girls set up their toys and playing with them with the girls.  She especially loved the little squinkies (and Aurora and Calyssa’s Leapster.)  I have to say that they are pretty stinkin cute, especially the little Cinderella carriage.

Later that afternoon, after they enjoyed their toys for a while, we let the girls give each other their secret pal gifts.  They were just as excited to watch their secret pal open their gift, as they were to open their own gift.  Aurora picked out a doggy that walks and barks for Calyssa- she loves doggies!  Tierra picked out a fancy Princess set of a purse, cell phone, car keys, etc. for Aurora, which she loved!  Sariah chose some adorable Squinky Princesses horses for Karina.  Riana chose a new Princess lunch box and a Princess puzzle, both with lenticular (3-D movable) images on the front, for Tierra, which is what she needed and wanted.  Karina chose a girl lego set, with a blonde lego girl with a soccer set for Sariah, perfect for her.  And Calyssa chose (with help) the new Taylor Swift CD “Red” for Riana, which is what she gets every year from her secret pal.  They are always so excited to pick out a gift for their secret sister and love watching each other open them.

Later, we had a wonderful dinner made mostly by Grandma and Grandpa and then opened presents from them.  We all loved our gifts.  Callie loved her dolly and Aurora loved her snuggly stuffed doggy.  Karina has worn her purple watch every day since then.  The older three girls and I were given special necklaces, with Grant’s Mom made for us.  And Grant got money!!  J  We gave them both gift cards (Cabelas and Kohls), which they always love getting.  We gave Aaron and Shailee a boot dryer/warmer and some foot/hand warmers to keep them warm in the frigid Rexburg temperatures.  We also sent a Seahawks pillow pet to our new little nephew.  It was a wonderful Christmas!
