The Rest of January

We decorated our Gingerbread house a little late this year. But the girls still had a lot of fun, as always! :)

I love the way babies look in overalls! So cute!

The sky looked so gorgeous in January! These pictures aren't very high quality, as I took them with my cell phone. But you get the idea. Beautiful!

Our girls are lucky enough to have dance with their cousins. They have so much fun just being together. I love to see the closeness they have with each other. I especially love that they are close to their boy cousins since they don't have brothers-- like Tia and Seth. And Karina and Laurel are inseparable! Their relationship is very sweet!

1) Preparing my lesson for YW- I love teaching YWs and we have a great group of girls.

2) My new skirt that I bought a while ago, while I was pregnant, but have only worn 2-3 times.

3) An early Valentine's gift- super cute heart measuring cups and a very yummy cookie! I love homemade cookies... so much!! They are my favorite! :)

4) Holding my sweet baby- I am so in love with her!

Our girls are very creative...
1-2) They made some dresses for their barbies out of some pretty tissue paper that they saved from Christmas.

3) Riana has been decorating her nails in different ways. For example, she did white tips with flower stickers. My personal favorite was her watermelon nails- cute!
4-5) Big sisters pushed Calyssa around in this lid, added a polar bear, and said she was in the "Polar Express"
6) A picture Sariah drew of Aurora as a princess
7) Tierra drew this picture of a princess
8) Tierra and Karina made jellyfish in their class, with actual jelly
9) Just a picture of Karina's hair looking pretty- I think I had just taken it out of braids or something

3 Nephi 17:21-24

"21 And when (Jesus) had said these words, he wept, and the multitude bare record of it, and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them.

22 And when he had done this he wept again;

23 And he spake unto the multitude, and said unto them: Behold your little ones.

Our homeschool program!!

My style of homeschooling is "public school at home." We began homeschooling on our own, the 1st year. Then we were enrolled in the Washington Virtual Academy (WAVA) for 3 years. Now we are enrolled in ORLA. Our girls are taking several classes at an Elementary School that is no longer used for a typical Elementary School. Instead 450 homeschooling students (K-12) take classes there with certified teachers (you choose which ones and how many) but you do have to be at the school with them until they are 12 (in another room with toys for the younger kids) or sign them out to a friend. Then you fill in the rest at home. For example, my girls take Music, Art, P.E., and Science at the school 2 days a week and then I teach them Math, Language, and History at home, on the other 3 days. The school also pays for an additional $300 a year of curriculum (like the Math, Lang, Hist.) We do have to keep up with a certain number of hours per week. We also have a "home room teacher" that helps us with everything, like deciding what extra things to do at home and making sure we don't miss anything. We are really enjoying this program-- it truly is the best of both worlds! If you have any questions, email me. :)
