She wanted to wear "wedding" dresses, whenever she was around him. And didn't accept the answer that he was too old for her or that she was too young to get married. One day, Sariah (trying to press Aurora's buttons) said, "Hey Aurora! ...Caleb has a girlfriend." To which she said, "Yeah... me!"
One day, we were over at his house, hanging out with his family and she didn't want to leave. I tried absolutely everything to try to get her to leave willingly. Then I said, "Well, I guess you are going to be in Caleb's family now, which means you won't be able to marry him." She immediately put her shoes on and walked right to the car. We all laughed! Caleb said, "Feel free to use me anytime in the future. Rori, Caleb wants to marry a girl who wears her seatbelt, Caleb wants to marry a girl who does her chores, etc." LOL!! It was very funny!
This is a picture of her at his house, wearing his sister, Hailey's dress.
She is always drawing pictures of her and Caleb. Practically every picture she draws, is of the two of them. I thought this one was particularly adorable as it had the "temple" on the back.
Well, Caleb left on his mission about two weeks ago. It was sad for all of us to say goodbye to him. He is just a dear friend and a good person. (I especially appreciate what a sensitive guy he is and how he tries to take care of others needs.) We tried to prepare Aurora and she seemed to just be in denial about the whole thing. She said she didn't want to say goodbye to him. The first Sunday after he left, she drew a picture of the two of them, in Sunbeams. After church, she ran down the church hallway and said, "I am going to go show, Caleb." Sad! And now, she has invented a new little imaginary friend, whom she likes to sit by and play with, who she has named... Caleb!
We've joked about how we should help her "Dear John" him and tell him that "Now that I'm 5, I have moved on..." LOL! For now, we will just have to send him some of her pictures so he can brag about all the mail he is getting from his "girlfriend" back home.
