Road Trip- Day 4- Utah
Sunday morning, we enjoyed Wendy's incredible cinnamon rolls, while we watched the morning session of conference. We were able to get mostly packed before conference started. I always forget that it starts at 10 am in Utah, since I have lived in Washington most of my life. 10 am seems so much easier than 9 am for some reason. I don't know. We all colored pictures and/or took notes during the session. Then afterwards, we took some pictures. Then we said our goodbyes. It is always so hard to say goodbye. It was especially hard for Tia and Nina to say goodbye to Riley... they really hit it off! It was so cute!
It was so nice catching up with our good friends and watching how well our kids got along. Tim and Grant were roomates right before Tim got married to Wendy and then we continued to hang out while they were married and we were engaged. We have visited each other back and forth throughout the last 15 years!! They were such wonderful hosts, as always! Hopefully, we will see each other again soon.
Side note-- For anyone who doesn't think I have a boy, check out this last picture! Oh my goodness!! He sure keeps us laughing!! LOL!! I love you, my silly boy, Grant!!! :)
Next, we drove an hour south to visit with some more of our good friends. Jeremy and Maria took amazing care of us from the moment we arrived. Maria had a feast waiting for us, which included all the fresh fruit and vegetables you could ever want. We were all in heaven!! Then the kids went outside to play. About every half hour, Maria would pull out something else fun for the kids to do. They had so much fun!! Even their dog was taking good care of us. Mi-shoo and Calyssa were quite the little pals. She ran around in circles giggling, while he ran behind her. In fact, he followed her around everywhere she went, licking her whenever he got the chance. She wasn't phased a bit!! In fact, she loved her little buddy! He even waited for her while she was on the trampoline!! It was absolutely adorable... and even made me want a dog (sadly, that feeling faded away by the time we arrived home... too bad the trip was so long... LOL!!) Aspen had a wonderful time with all the girls. And Aiden and Rori hit it off too, as little buddies. Dalton came home later and the girls enjoyed hanging out with him too. We all had a great time visiting!
Another side note-- Jeremy and Grant were childhood friends, hiking/roadtrips/other adventure buddies, college roomates, then he was a groomsman at our wedding. We have also visited each other through the years. Jeremy and Maria and all of their kids have red hair and our girls just love that. When Riana was 5-6, she used to talk about how she had to marry a redhead so that she could have all redheaded babies... I am pretty sure she decided this based on Jeremy and Maria's family. It was pretty cute!!
Maria made an amazing dinner and then we had ice cream sundaes with just about every topping you could dream of!! The girls were in heaven!! After we put the kids to bed, we stayed up talking for a while and doing some laundry. (I was especially thankful that they let us use their washer and dryer so we didn't have to go to a laundromat... what a pain that would've been!) But then Maria and I decided to go to bed... crazy Grant and Jeremy, who were apparently trying to relive their teenage years, stayed up until 7 AM!!!! Silly boys!! They really enjoyed their time to catch up though. :)
