I Don't Get Out Much

I mean, I take my kids where they need to go, and I go places almost every day of the week with everything. However, I don't go very many places on my own. I have been thinking about that and analyzing it. (Those who know me well, know that I over-analyze pretty much everything in life.) I have come down to 3 conclusions, as to why I don't get out much:

1) I am a home-body. I love relaxing at home and have been this way pretty much my whole life. In fact, I think it runs in my family because many of my siblings are like this too. Usually when we get together, we all just sit around my parent's house and talk. And that is just fine with us. We love it!

2) I am so busy! With having 6 children, all 11 and under, a nursing baby, and homeschooling them all, I am never really on top of things. Quite often, I am in survival mode and am always playing catch-up for this or that. I think I need to use every moment doing the necessary things, since I'm not getting to all of them.

3) When I think about going out and inviting someone, I always worry that somehow I will offend someone by not inviting them.  And I even sometimes worry that I will offend someone by inviting them- silly, I know!

Because of these excuses, I appreciate it all the more when my friends invite me to go somewhere... or invite themselves along. In fact, I love it!! And I just wanted to say thank you!!

Thank you to my husband, Grant, who is always encouraging me to get out and have fun- whether it be with our whole family or just by myself, while he watches all the kids. He has done a lot to encourage me to do the things I love, like working-out (Curves, Soccer Team, Basketball, etc.)  He is quite the opposite of me, in this area.  He's definitely not a homebody- he loves to constantly go places, so he is really good for me!  We balance each other out well.

Thank you to my friend, Celeste, who was always so good about inviting us places, when they lived here.

Thank you to my friend, Jen, who invites me to come along and have some girl time- clothes shopping, exercising, pedicures, etc.  And I love that she invites me along just to go grocery shopping! How fun is that? Everything is much funner with a friend!

Thank you to my friend, Vanessa, who asked me if she could go walking with me.  It makes me so happy that she did.  (I had been having a hard time finding a time to go exercise, since Calyssa was born, and this helped me make it a regular thing. I truly enjoy our talks on our walks- the hour passes SO quickly!)

The list could go on and on...

Thank you to all my friends, who are so good for me and give me that extra little push I need to get out and have fun!!
My most recent pedicure- I love it, and yet, never would've done it on my own.

Thanks for saying YES! We benefit from each other. I know I am never being judged when I'm with you. It means a lot.
