Calyssa's Blessing- Part 2

Grant's youngest brother, Aaron, decided to fly up for Calyssa's baby blessing and surprise his parents.  So Thursday, Grant picked him up from the airport.  It was fun catching up with him on his adventures at BYU-I.  Friday morning, Grant's brother, Phil, his wife, Michelle, and their boys arrived in town (from Eastern WA) and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express here.  (Grant's sister, Jill, works at one and is able to get us discounts, which is such a blessing to all of us.)  Friday night, Jill and her kids came into town (they only live about 45 minutes north- Tito was working on their house, which they were moving out of.)  We all hung out at Phil and Michelle's hotel, all 16 of us, swimming and eating pizza.  It was crazy but actually a lot of fun!  Saturday was even crazier!  We (about 30 people!) all hung out at our house- talking, playing games, and shopping at Cabelas and such (my awesome brother in laws even did a Girl Scout run, at one point, and brought me home some boxes- they are so sweet!!)  That afternoon, Grant's parents arrived (also from Eastern WA) and Aaron was able to surprise them, which made Shari quite emotional.  (They had had a rough weekend, getting rear-ended in their rental car, on I-5, on the way.)  She was quite happy to meet her newest grandbaby and be surprised by her baby, both in that moment.  Also, they came bearing gifts- among other things were some beautiful matching dresses for the girls, which they loved!  It was very kind of them!  But the best gift of all, came when I was getting ready to prepare dinner and Grant was out picking up the last few items for the meal, when Aurora's diaper (which was tucked in wrong) leaked all over my carpet upstairs.  I was already overwhelmed with the state of my house,  and with so many people in it, and then this happened!  However, as I was washing Aurora in the tub, my amazing mother-in-law stepped in and cleaned up the entire mess!  And then proceeded to shampoo the entire hallway, where it happened!  I seriously was so appreciative of her!  I couldn't even begin to express how thankful I was!  She saved me from a lot of tears!  (And she did such a good job that there was no smell or stain to be found- she is totally the queen of stain removal!  It is impressive!)  Afterwards, we enjoyed a nice dinner of Challupies (glorified nachos) and a movie.  During the movie, Shari and I had a really nice visit upstairs until she fell asleep.  Later on that night, pretty late, my sister-in-law, Michelle and I snuck away for a little midnight treat at Shari's.  We had a lot of fun gabbing about life, as well.  Then I dropped her off at the hotel and went home and fell right asleep.

The next morning, after the blessing, we were able to get some pictures of everyone in Grant's family who came.  (For those of you who weren't able to make it, we missed you a lot!  However, we totally understand!)  Explanation of the pictures- All of us (last two... being goofy!), Aurora and Connor became quite the little buddies, Alexis looking way too gorgeous!, Gene and Shari, Connor lookin' sharp!, Uncle Aaron, and then the Grandparents with all their grandkids (which we own half of.)  After the pictures, they all took off to get Aaron to the airport and/or to start their journey home.
And my very favorite picture of the day... Miss Cranky Pants + Grandpa's smile= One cute picture!
