Riana's Little Party

For our girl's birthdays, we let them choose to either have a bunch of friends for a party at our house, or have a party with all of our (extended) family, or go somewhere for a party and just invite a couple of friends (usually 2-3.)

Riana's choice this year was to have 2 friends (plus Sariah) and go to a local gymnastic's gym for open gym. She chose to have her friends Bailey and Jarrod for her birthday. (Last June, her friend Trieste moved to Kansas and this June, Bailey is moving to Georgia and Jarrod is moving to Colorado. We've decided it really stinks to live so close to a military base! We keep losing good friends! It is so sad!! :( But I guess one good thing about it is that we now have friends all over the country.) So this was the last birthday that she could invite Bailey and Jarrod over.
It was really nice to have a small party. I was so much more relaxed then I usually am.

For her cake, Riana wanted little gymnasts on it. So we grabbed some little ballerinas, because that it what we had and a little doll with redhair, like Riana.

For dinner, Grant picked up some pizzas. Then we just had some carrots or salad with it, and some pop. That made it easy.

Instead of spending a few dollars on little things to go in a treat bag (that would probably be thrown away or just kick around here), we picked up some nice water bottles for the kids to use during gymnastics (and later during sports or whatever.)

Then Grant took the kids to the gym. They had a really fun time together. They even swung on the rope altogether! It was a nice, easy, fun birthday! :)

Stress free party, now that's a smart mother! Everyone has more fun when everyone is happy!

Sounds great! Just how I like to do it. It is so sad to see friends leave. I really thought Jarrod would be here forever...I mean haven't they been so far...they were here before me.

Sounds like a fun party for her and a laid back one for you. What gym has open gym and when?

Sooper cool party. I know when Trieste reads this she will be saddened but happy y'all had a good time. Happy B-day Riana! I hear ya on the living by a military base thing. Ed Fanning once said the same. Sometimes it might be more difficult for those who aren't transient... I dunno. Miss you guys, D
