1) Decorating the Christmas Tree
2) We had about 18 inches of snow!!! That is unheard of around here! We tried to enjoy it while it lasted. The girls and a neighbor friend built a snowman. The girls and I built a snowfort. And we had a family snowball fight-- boys vs girls. (It pays to have all daughters--LOL!!)
3) We made sugar cookies again. However, I cheated this year and used frozen cookie dough, that I bought from a fundraiser. Riana had the wonderful idea of spelling out "For Santa" and all the girls helped decorate those cookies. They turned out so cute. On Christmas Day, I also made rocky road (the easiest Christmas candy) and almond roca (my favorite!!! which I'm still trying to perfect)

Rocky Road
Take 1 package of chocolate chips and 1 cup of peanut butter and melt in microwave for 2-3 minutes, stirring after each minute. Fold in 3 cups mini- marshmellows and 1/4 cup chopped nuts. Spoon into a greased 9" sq. pan. Chill until firm and cut into squares.
Almond Roca
Butter a 9 X 13 pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup chopped almonds. Melt 1 cup butter in pan on stove at medium heat. Add 1 cup sugar, 3 T. water, and 1 T. light corn syrup. Cook to 290' (not 300'!) You may need to turn up the stove a bit. Pour the hot mixture over nuts. Add 1 cup of chocolate chips across top. When melted, spread around. Let cool. Break into pieces.
