A Special Valentine's Day

It is hard to believe that 10 years ago, we had our first Valentine's Day (as an engaged couple) and now, here we are 4 1/2 kids later. :)
We had a really nice day. It started when Grant gave me a new purse, that he did an awesome job picking out! I was totally impressed! Then we had a special breakfast of waffles and red strawberries. I found the perfect card with exactly what I wanted to say and a gigantic balloon for Grant, that sang "How sweet it is to be loved by you!" It was so fun! And the girls especially loved it! We also bought some sweet little princess chocolates for our sweet little princesses.
For lunch, we had heart shaped sandwiches and red apples. Then we made sugar cookies with many different cookie cutters, including some that I bought to make Grant cookies 10 years ago, that spelled "L-O-V-E." Tia, Karina, and their little friend Ella made a little club. It was so cute! They kept putting their hands together, saying "Supergirls!," and then throwing their hands in the air. It was so adorable especially because they came up with it on their own.
Then I made cookies with our girls and Ella. They especially enjoyed decorating them. Later in the afternoon, Mandy brought the kids over to decorate cookies too. But I forgot to take pictures... bummer!
We ended the day with a nice dinner: red spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread. The girls helped me clean and decorate the table for dinner, to make it especially nice. It was a really special Valentine's Day. :)
That weekend, Grant and I had a date for just the two of us! :) We went out to dinner at the Tap House Grill in Seattle and then to the temple. And the best part was, it was free. The dinner was the final part of our winnings from the Father's Day contest and my parents watched the kids for us. We sure appreciate them!!
