Grant had a conference for work, in Victoria, so we packed up the family and joined him! Hey, you can't beat a free hotel!! :) On the first day of our trip, we had a rocky but fun, ferry ride. I have been on the Bremerton/Seattle Ferry and it was nothing like that! I think because it is a little more exposed to the real Ocean. I was feeling pretty sick! When we got to Victoria, we had to turn over my Pepper Spray. Whoops! Apparently, that is not allowed in Canada. (We got it back on our way back.) Next, we checked into our hotel and then we went out to eat at a Japanese Restaurant. I had a very interesting conversation with a lady, I met there, about how we take for granted what we have near us. She was talking about all the neat places in Seattle and I was talking about all the cool places in Victoria. It was interesting. Anyway, the restaurant was neat! They chopped, served, and cooked the meal, right in front of you. The cook was hilarious!!! He was cracking all these jokes about the "Japanese onions, straight from California" or the "Japanese chicken, from Safeway." We had such a great time and the food was excellent! It was a fun first day!
