Orlando- Day 3

The third day, we woke up bright at early at 7:30 am (that’s 4:30 am Seattle time! It’s amazing what you will do to make your dreams come true!) So we drove to Discovery Cove, which is a branch of Sea World. After we received our wet suits, and ate breakfast (all meals were included), we went to the Aviary. We were given cups of fruit and birds just started landing on us. It was so awesome!! And the birds were such amazing colors! They were so beautiful! (I just love the pirate picture of Grant- it is so fun to be married to him!) One little bird wouldn’t leave Grant’s foot alone and just kept pecking it! It was funny! Next, we went over to the Sting Ray pool. I was totally apprehensive about that one but after talking to someone who knew about it, I felt better. It was really cool! Then, the whole purpose of the trip… the dolphin swim! I was so excited, like a little child! In our group of 8, the trainer taught us all about the dolphins and even taught us how to give the dolphin directions. (The dolphins were so adorable, like a little puppy dog, and so intelligent!!) Then we were able to kiss the dolphin, pet it several times, and even take a ride! It was a dream come true- and I even got teary eyed. Then all four dolphins did a few tricks together for us (ours was the smallest dolphin- only 3 years old.) It was truly an amazing experience!! I was in heaven!! Of course, it ended too soon! And we just had to buy the pictures and DVD, which of course cost a fortune! That is so unfair because they know how badly you will want it! We finished our experience at Discovery Cove, snorkeling in a coral reef with tropical fish and even bigger sting rays. That was so neat! I didn’t think I would enjoy snorkeling because I am a bit closter-phobic, but it was awesome! Finally, we floated down a tropical river, which went through the Aviary and through a couple of waterfalls. The water was so warm and relaxing. It was such an amazing day and something I will never forget!!

Dave got to swim with dolphins, too, when he worked with them in Hawaii at Sealife Park. I'm jealous of you both. Glad you got to have so much fun! What an experience!
