1) One of Sariah's birthday presents, she received from her aunt and uncle- she has really been enjoying it and especially loved reading the facts about each animal.
2) Flowers from Grant :)
3) Riana and Sariah both scored goals in their soccer game and got to pick out some ice cream!
4-6) One of our favorite family activities is going to the park with several other families and playing soccer together. So much fun! Aurora and her buddy had fun just running around in a circle! So cute!
7-8) Washington born girls having fun in the rain!
9) The breakfast I surprised Grant with one morning before work.
10) Sariah and her "S" shaped chip
11) Karina decided to try the floss trick to get her tooth to come out.
12) It worked!! :)
13) Tierra and her "Washington State" shaped fruit snack, that she wanted a picture of. Fun!
Last year, before summer soccer, we weren't even sure if we were going to be able to field a team (because of some drama caused by Grant's assistant coach.) I remember feeling so frustrated about the whole situation and that Grant, who is a volunteer, didn't deserve to be treated that way. Grant ended up combining with another head coach, Scott, who only had a few players left after our assistant coach took some of his players too. Then we were given a few players who were new or didn't have a team.
Well, now that the past is the past, I am so happy with how it all turned out. We are so blessed with the girls who are on our team. (Recently, we had a girl from another team join our team. She told her Mom that only 2 girls on the other team were nice to her but that she loved every single girl on our team. Pretty neat!) They are all amazing girls with amazing parents. It is just such a positive, encouraging environment for the girls to learn. Scott and Grant work really well together and have similar philosophies about the game (which differ greatly from his former assistant coach, which makes me realize how thankful I am now that she left.)
In addition, I feel so lucky that Grant is able to coach our girls. He cares so much about the team and is always worrying about it. He is constantly thinking and coming up with strategies about it. He also cares a lot about improving each and every player, which is pretty neat. Together, they make a great team and have a lot of fun.
Our girls got so excited every time they heard the Ice Cream Man, this summer. I'm not such a fan of the overpriced ice cream and Grant pretty much hates all Ice Cream men and thinks they are creepy. However, it was such a great bribe to use... "Whoever gets _____ done, gets a dollar for the Ice Cream Man, next time he comes." Here we are paying up. :) They loved it!
