"This is my Day, my Baptism Day!!!"

Sariah was baptized on 7-11! It was an incredibly special day! It was such a sweet sight to watch my husband baptize our beautiful daughter, Sariah. The spirit was very strong and it brought tears to my eyes! Also, Sariah had the opportunity to be baptized with one of her very best friends, Autumn, but it almost didn't happen. A week and a half before the baptism, both families were watching our Daddy's play on their soccer team together, when all of a sudden, Autumn's Daddy got really hurt. A pop heard round the field turned out to be Jason's achilles tendon being completely torn off! OUCH!! You could see the horror on his face-- he was in some serious pain! He had to be rushed to the emergency room and had surgery 3 days later. Autumn's Mommy had just had a baby (beginning of June), which they were planning on blessing the day after the baptism. All their family had already purchased plane tickets to come for that weekend. And Jason really wanted to baptize his daughter-- which truly is a righteous desire. However, how can you baptize your daughter when you can't get your leg or cast wet? In our church, we believe in baptism by immersion, as Christ has modeled for us. How could he baptize his daughter when he couldn't even stand on two legs?? I know that a lot of people, especially Jen and Jason and their families, were praying for a miracle! Who knew that the answer would come in the form of fishing waders and a friend to lean on? Grant went into the water with his friend Jason and everything went smoothly. It was so incredible to witness a miracle that day! Tears rolled down my cheeks as I felt the strength of a special spirit that was there during Autumn's baptism. I am so glad I could witness that tender mercy of the Lord.
Autumn and siblings, Savannah and Cannon, and Sariah and her sisters, sang "I Feel My Savior's Love" (both at the baptism and at church the next day.) Kids bring such a sweet spirit when they sing. The girls also received the Holy Ghost from their Daddy's. After the baptism, we gave Sariah her very own set of scriptures (a tradition in our family.) Sariah looked like a princess in the dress my Mom made for her!! Thank you so much Mom!! (We were so glad my Mom/Sariah's Grandma could be at the baptism, as she almost didn't make it!) We had a ton of family and dear friends at the baptism and/or luncheon to follow, at the park. In order of the pictures: Jason and Jen and their family (of course!!), my brother Chris and his family, our friends Celeste and girls (all the way from Kansas!! We sure missed their Daddy Dan, who is in Iraq.), my brother Dan and his wife, Grant's parents and sister Jill, friends Vanessa and family, my sister Celestia and her family, my brother Joe, my Dad, my sister Liz and her family, my brother Tom, and my Mom. Also at the same park, 2 different parties were going on with our friends from our ward. That was really fun to see all of them, as well.
That night, at 7:11 pm, we took the girls to "7-11" for slurpees! After getting $1 slurpees, we noticed that you can get 7.11 ounce slurpees for FREE on (July) 7-11. So we plan to make that a tradition!! Fun times! It was just an all around super, great day!!
