
About 2 years ago, I joined a gym called Curves. It is only for women and it is a circuit workout. Basically, there are 15 machines and 15 platforms in a circle and you complete the circuit twice. There are machines that work all different kinds of muscles-- abs, arms, legs, etc. You run/jump/walk on a platform for 30 seconds and then workout on a machine for 30 seconds and then go to the next platform, then machine, etc. It takes 30 minutes to workout and I have to say that I have never seen such great results, nor have I seen such quick results either. It works really great for me. Plus I feel encouraged by the women I meet there. They are so friendly. And it is the perfect break from my kids, who I leave home with my husband- a total of 45 minutes away from home, including driving time. I try to go 3-4 times a week. And I just feel so good when I get home! My patience is back and I feel happier. :)
Anyway, they are having open houses during the last two weeks in August, where you can try it out for free. The days vary from Curves to Curves-- mine is only for two days. But if you are interested, go try it out! The only downside is that they don't have childcare there, at least not at mine. But I love it! The 30 minutes passes so quickly! Plus I get to socialize with other women. Well worth the $30 a month!
