5-6) Getting into Mommy's makeup... how was I suppose to get mad at them when they looked so stinkin cute!! I did, however, make them clean up the mess.

We were asked to sing as a family for the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Meeting, in August. We based the program off the story of my ancestor, Robert Erwin Baird. He was born in Ireland so I started the program with an Irish folk song, "Oh Danny Boy." Then we talked about how he became a member of the church, moved to America, was driven from Nauvoo, went to Winter Quarters, and eventually left with Brigham Young and the strongest people to pave the way for the others in crossing the plains. He drove the oxen for Heber C. Kimball. Grant sang, "Come, Come Ye Saints" and I played the violin. After getting to Salt Lake, he returned for his family. They had a young son, who was only 6 years old. Next the girls sang, "Somewhere There's A Mountain." When the Bairds arrived in Utah, they were some with some challenges including having all their crops destroyed by grasshoppers in the plague of 1868. That same year, their 1 year old daughter passed away. He stayed strong in the church his whole life and received many blessings. To end, Grant sang, "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing." Then they had food and games. One of the games was "milking a cow" with a glove full of milk. Aurora got it all over herself... LOL! Cute! Another activity was pulling taffy. They had a lot of fun! (I can't remember why the older girls had to miss it... Girls Camp maybe?) They even let the girls take cupcakes home.

4) My brand new, super expensive, Super Bowl winning, Russell Wilson jersey... Grant searched for weeks for this for me!! I love it so much!! Russell Wilson is probably my favorite NFL player ever!! He is such a class act and such an amazing football player and leader and hard worker! (Well, I do love Jonathan Stewart from my hometown too.)

1-2) Picking from Grandma and Grandpa's garden while they are gone. A win/win deal-- we pick it to keep it growing and we get to keep it!! :) I love all garden fresh veggies!

1-2) Calyssa had to get her blood drawn again to recheck her Vitamin D levels. I was so worried/sad about it and so Grant took her. They got it on the first try (hallelujah!!) She was such a big helper and didn't even cry!

3) Aurora and Calyssa decided on their own to do the ice bucket challenge for ALS. Their videos were so completely adorable!! August 2014
1) Riana went with Daddy to help Tasha move to Tacoma and then they went out to lunch with a bunch of the people who also helped. Someone dared Riana to eat the whole burger and I think even offered $5! She did it! Everyone was so impressed!
