| "Buddy" was surrounded by a whole lot of PINK!!! :) He looks pretty happy! I think he likes his cousins! :) |
We woke up the next morning and finally had the opportunity to meet our cute little redheaded nephew. We all fell in love with him... I mean, what's not to love? It was fun spending time with Brian and Shannon too, of course. (Brian is Grant's brother.) We enjoyed attending church with them, although the girls weren't too thrilled about having to go to class by themselves so we allowed the older 4 to go in pairs.
After church, we drove out to have dinner with Grant and Brian's Great Aunt Sandy (their Grandma's sister) and her husband Clydell. It was nice to meet him. Callie especially loved him and kept calling him "Grandpa" and snuggling right up to him. She snuggled up to him and even went to sleep. I think he really felt special and loved. It was sweet! We had a great time visiting with everyone and the food was good too. It was a fun afternoon. When we were leaving, Sandy hooked us up big time with gum, mentos, and airheads. She works for a company and gives out samples or something like that. The girls were so excited!! We won't need to buy any gum for months! It was very nice of her!
Afterward, we drove over to the Las Vegas Temple. I was a little worried that it would be closed. However, only the parking lot was closed. They had one gate open that we were able to go through. Right after we got there, this Mexican man and his two sons came up to us and handed us a wallet (that was full of money, a license, and an LDS temple recommend.) They told us that they had tried to knock on the door of the temple to talk to someone and hand it in, but no one answered the door. They asked if we could make sure it was taken care of and returned it the right owner. It was so cute!! I loved that this man set such a wonderful example for his boys! It was really neat! We found the Temple security guard who was on duty for the day and gave it to him. He said he even knew who the lady was and that she lived pretty close to the temple. After we took care of that, we walked around the temple grounds. I had so much fun taking pictures (and probably took way too many... 100+... LOL!) It was such a relaxing evening.
1) Aurora is quite the little poser!! Cute!! 2) The girls saw some more "pineapple" palm trees-- they thought that the trees looked just like pineapples. 3) Trying to take a picture of Brian and his little guy but Brian stepped out and held on tight. Buddy looked so cute up on the wall.
The middle picture here is a picture of an olive tree. I thought it was pretty cool that they had an olive tree at the temple.
Riana took this middle picture with her phone. When she showed it to me, I thought that it looked so cool that I copied her and took the one on the right. Good eye, Riana!!
If you look really close, this picture of the left contains the craziest creature ever!! It looked like a hummingbird... only it looked more like a bug, like a moth or something. It was pretty neat because I had never seen anything like it before in my life!
This is pretty much what I looked like the whole trip! LOL! I thought it was super fun that Grant took a picture of me taking pictures. Thanks, babe!! :)
Look below to see everybody relaxing in the grass, in the picture on the left, and a hummingbird, in the picture on the right.
Callie and Rori looked so cute in their cowgirl boots! They really enjoyed checking things out at the temple. The picture on the top right has a dove hiding in the eaves of the temple. And then the bottom middle one has something in the top right corner flying away, which is probably that same dove. Pretty crazy lookin! The Las Vegas Temple was beautiful and worth the drive. I'm glad we went! It was the perfect Sunday activity.
