Sariah's Superpower

I discovered the other day that Sariah has a superpower.  Whenever we drive anywhere, she spies the most incredible things… things that no one else ever notices until she points them out.  She notices spiders crawling across their webs on the sides of warehouses, or hundreds of birds nests in trees, or incredible birds flying in the sky, etc…  I have learned not to panic when Sariah squeals while in the car because it is usually something exciting she has noticed.

One day last month, we were driving to school.  All of a sudden Sariah screamed, “MOMMY!!!”  She saw a bald eagle perched on the top of a street light!  It was incredible!!  Wow!  I was so thankful that she pointed it out so that we were all able to enjoy this rare sighting.  (I passed it the first time, but I quickly flipped around in the round-about and then turned around and came back and snapped a few pictures with my phone.  Too bad I didn't have my nice camera with me.  However, lucky that the bald eagle stuck around long enough for me to take these pictures.)

I told her that I think she has super eyesight.  I said that maybe all kids with ADD have superpowers.  Maybe that is why it is a little bit harder for her to keep her focus on things like school work and things because she sees things other people just don’t notice.  Maybe Uncle Joe has super hearing… he notices parts of peoples’ voices that other people don’t notice.  That is why he can mimic voices and be so successful at voice acting.

We are sure blessed by Sariah and her supersight!!  Just think of all the amazing things we would miss out on without her.
