Lately I have been thinking about how I wasn’t sure if
Aurora is ready for Kindergarten next year.
She just seems so small and I can’t even believe she is turning 5 in 2
months. It is so crazy how fast she is
growing up. Well, this week we spent
some time in the girls’ classes. In one
class, they were having a “Bear Hibernation Party,” building forts, hiding out,
snuggling with their baby bears, and reading stories. I thought for sure Aurora would go hide out
with Karina in her “cave.” Or maybe with
Riana, who was a TA for the class, who Callie ended up hiding out with. Instead I found Aurora with two new little
friends. (Interestingly enough, though Aurora wouldn't have known this, I am friends with both of their Moms, and they are both LDS.) They were all hanging out in
the cave together. It was so
adorable! Aurora loved that they shared their blankets, books, and even their oranges with her. And it calmed my heart. I could finally picture her being in this
class and it was just really a good moment for me—exactly what I needed to
reassure me that she is going to be okay in Kindergarten. It is interesting how an experience that is
so small can bring so much peace.
And speaking of being ready, we bought something for Callie. She absolutely adores Ariel and so we bought her some princess panties. She is doing pretty good with half, but not so much on the other. Although it is way better in my opinion, if she had to choose one. She needs to get the timing down on the other. But we are about to go on a trip anyway, so I think we will wait until we are back and by then maybe she will be all ready!! What a good day that will be! :)
