Our friends, Julina and Mike, invited us to go camping with a group of friends. I wasn't up for camping, however, we still wanted to go hang out for the evening. Since we had already done some camping, over the summer, but had missed out on a few of our favorite parts, we made up for those. We had foil dinners, which we all love! (We normally make them with shrimp, tator tots, carrots, and sometimes fish or hamburger.) We also had some smores! It was fun to visit with everyone and let the kids play. I borrowed Julina's baby backpack, which was really nice, because Calyssa just wanted to be held. Also, we saw a little family of deer wandering around. It was cute!
Our favorite college football team, the University of Washington Huskies played Grant and my Dad's alma mater, the Eastern Washington Eagles, which I'm pretty sure was a first, since they are in different leagues. However, the Eagles were the National Champions last year and so I guess someone set up this game. We really wanted to go and were going to go with my Dad. However, after pricing the tickets for a while and deciding that we didn't want really crummy tickets and didn't want to pay the crazy prices for the good ones, we ultimately felt that it would be much funner and cheaper just to have a party at home and watch the game with all our family. It was a lot of fun to watch the game and visit together. We had tons of yummy foods. The babies enjoyed watching the doggy we were dog sitting. The only hard part was choosing who to root for. I chose to root for the Dawgs, as I felt that they had more to lose, if they lost. And thankfully, they did win. But it was a really good game, and quite close. The Huskies won 30-27!
The harvest moon during the second week of September looked way awesome! I can't believe how yellow the moon looked in the first picture. Very cool!
Our good friend, Caleb, received his mission call! It is kind of a funny story. We were at the temple, for my brother, Tommy's, endownments for his mission. When we arrived home, our friends were leaving our house. (Vanessa and Grant had our children and the plan was for Caleb to come over and stay with them after work until we got home, so that they could put their children in bed. So we were surprised to see their whole family.) We found out that they had gone home and seen Caleb's mission call and then brought the whole family over to open it. It was very special that all of our girls got to be there when he opened his call. He was very excited to show us when we got home. I believe I guessed he was going to England or something and I think Grant guessed Fuji or something. Anyway, he received his call to serve in the Helsinki, Finland speaking Finnish. (Which is apparently like the hardest language to learn.) We made lots of jokes about how he would serve from start to finish... and such. LOL! It was very cool! Congrats to Caleb! He is going to be an incredible missionary!! :)
It was pretty awesome to go through the temple with Tommy and it somehow just seemed right. (Grant and I got to sit in the front middle and so all of my family was on the front row. That was really cool.) It is unbelievable how far he has come in such a short amount of time. I am so proud of him and the decisions he is making to start the rest of his life. It was really special to be in the temple with my parents, my husband, and 4 of my 6 siblings. I really appreciated my friends, Vanessa and Grant, for taking our children at the last minute notice, so that we could both be there. It was a really special night. We ended it with Dairy Queen! Yum! There ketchup was really cute! :) (The only bummer was that since it was planned at the last minute not everyone could make it.)
We went and played soccer with some of our friends-- Brady and Tracy and girls, Doug and Carol and boys, Bryce and Susan and kids, David C. and two of his friends. Aurora looked especially cute in her soccer outfit. After we were done, a bunch of the kids and even a few of the Dads rolled down the grassy hills. It was hilarious... and adorable! On our way home, we took the girls to 7-11. They were so excited because they love 7-11! We bought hot dogs and slurpees. They thought it was great! We had a fun evening!
My girls had the chance to play with the giant parachute in PE. Mr. E. even let Aurora join in on the fun. It was great to watch as well and brought back lots of fond memories for me.

3) Tia and Nina playing Little People together
4) A pretty rose in our garden
5) Going swimming at our cousins' neighborhood pool
6) Our friends, Brady and Tracy, asked Grant to come dress as Barney for their 2 year old twin girls birthday (since they love Barney. They paid to rent the costume and everything.) Grant also brought Aurora. (Grant had a huge mask/head on.) Well, all 3 girls absolutely hated him!!! And screamed in terror until he left! Grant was a good sport to do that for them.
7 and 8) Grant, Jason, and Scott (all 3 help coach their daughters' soccer teams together) all went to see the Sounders play in the US Open Cup Final. The Sounders won for the 3rd straight time and were awarded trophies. Pretty cool!
9) Also in September, we went on a group date with a few other couples, for our friend Jen's birthday. We went out to dinner and then played some lazer tag. I have always wanted to go. And oh my goodness, it was so much fun!! Seriously, one of the funnest things I have ever done in my life!! I am definitely going to be going again soon!! :)
