On Tuesday, (after totally roughing it--all we had was a tent, 2 sleeping bags, and 4 small fleece blankets, for the 6 of us, and it was cold!) we woke up early and went over to the beach. We had a great time flying kites, building sand (hills), collecting shells, getting our feet wet, ...oh and eating sand! :) After playing for an hour, we drove over to the Sea Lion Caves. I was so excited because I remember being so impressed with them as a child. It was cool but it wasn't half as exciting as I remember it. Funny how a child memory remembers things. Hopefully, my kids were as impressed as I was as a child. If nothing else, it will be a good memory of our family just being together. After we were done at the Caves, we rushed up the Oregon Coast and finally ended up switching over to I-5 so that we could get home quicker. We arrived home at 6:10 and our girls had to be at a Dance Recital at 6:30! It was a little insane but we made it on time! :) It was such a wonderful visit with friends, and beautiful scenery, and I am glad we went.
