February 2012

1-2) Grant found this awesome popcorn popper at Walmart!  It was so cute and perfect for our family!  Unfortunately, cute was about all it was, as it didn't work properly and we ended up taking it back.  Bummer!3)  Riana was proud of this picture she painted at school, for her Renaissance Journey class.  It is her version of Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa."

4-6) It is always wonderful when you find the perfect gift for someone.  Well, I happened to be in Hallmark, (yeah, that never happens with 6 young kids... LOL!) the month of my Mom's birthday, and I saw this little Snoopy calendar.  My Mom loves all the "Peanuts" gang.  She loved the gift and it even made her cry (in a good way)!  Cute!
7-8) Our friends, Vanessa and Grant, (who Rori is absolutely in love with) brought us dinner one night.  After everyone had eaten, we found Rori up on the counter finishing it off.  Apparently, she loves them and their cookin'.  LOL!
9) Rori and some of our favorite toys, the clip-on dolls.  They are perfect for little hands.  Plus they are a lot of fun, like paper dolls, only much more sturdy.
10-12) Some special treats- Daddy brought home some surprises, when he was away on business and Grandma and Grandpa C. sent a special card, stickers, and bookmarks for Valentine's Day.  The girls loved them all!
13-15) Tia, Nina, Rori, Callie, and Hailey A. put on a special show for Vanessa and I.  They all looked very beautiful in their fancy dress-up clothes.

16) We took the girls out for lunch and they looked so cute in their matching tutu skirts, so I had to get a picture!
17) Karina drew the cutest picture of our family!
18) Karina being silly!!  :)
19-21) Fairies drawn mostly by Tia (but I think Riana or Sariah drew the middle ones.)

In February, Grant attended a national work meeting in Georgia.  Whenever he gets over that way, he likes to try and visit his brother, Jeremy, who happens to live in North Carolina.  Well, he worked it out so that he could leave a few days early and visit before his meetings.  I made sure he took his camera with him.  Although, I think he must've listened to one too many country songs while he was over there because the only pictures he took were of Jeremy's house, his truck, and his dog...  LOL!!  I guess he did take a couple of Taylor's Paris decor in her room, to show Riana, since they both love Paris.  He didn't take any of Jeremy and him, or even just Jeremy, or Elizabeth, or Holly.  I think he took one (but I can't find it) of himself at Jeremy's new job, which happens to be at the North Carolina headquarters for Facebook.  Grant really enjoyed going to work with Jeremy and is excited for him.  Grant thinks Jeremy has the potential to go far in this new job!  He also enjoyed doing some archery with Jeremy and watching as Jeremy partcipated in an archery competition.  He was glad he had the chance to spend a few days with Jeremy and his family.

Grant was sweet enough to go on the YM/YW snow trip for me (I am not a huge fan of being cold and also don't like driving in the snow-- two things which Grant loves!)  It happened to be Riana's first activity, since she recently turned 12.  (I figured I would have the chance to attend many more with her.)  He also took Sariah with them.  He took all the YW in our van, as well as the Bishop (who happens to be his good friend.)  They all had a great day- playing in the snow... and I had a great day, staying warm, at home!  Thanks hun!!  :)

I also had my very first root canal in February... not my favorite.  I was so lucky that my dentist referred me out to a specialist though because even the specialist took 2 hours.  He said that all he does is root canals all day and that this was a very hard one.  He said that I had several very windy roots and they were hard to clean out but that he was able to get the whole thing done.  Luckily, I didn't know any better.  What was crazy too was that at the follow up visit they had to do a whole bunch more stuff that took like an hour.  Yikes!  My crown is doing pretty good and I have finally adjusted to having a "fake" tooth in my mouth.  Needless to say, I will be flossing my teeth every night so I don't have to get another one!!
