Canning with Mom
I was so thankful to my Mom for helping me can this year.  Because of her, I was able to can 2 boxes of peaches and a box of pears and also dry 2 boxes of pears (my favorite treat ever!  I love homemade dried pears!!!)  Plus we made "Bread and Butter Pickles," which are SO good with roast beef!  It brought me back to the good memories of the past, canning with my Mom!

Frogs, Frogs, and More Frogs
One of the best things about our current house is that every summer/early fall, there are tons of frogs jumping around.  The girls love catching them and playing with them.  We allow them to keep them for 24 hours (outside, of course!) and then they take them over to the "pond" (drainage water) and let them go.  These are 2 of the many, many, pictures I have of the girls with frogs.  Notice Sariah trying to turn one into a prince (okay, she didn't really kiss it.)  Fun times!

My Birthday
My adorable nephew, Benjamin, and I, had a little birthday party and dinner at my parent's house.  One of the wonderful things about living so close.  :)

The First Day of our New School   --I always take pictures of the first day we begin school or our Co-op groups or whatever.  Well, this year, we started a new homeschool/public school combo.  The girls take classes on Monday and Tuesday, with public school teachers and other homeschoolers.  It is truly the best of both worlds!  My favorite thing is that 2 days a week I am able to spend time all day playing (in the toddler rooms at the school) with Karina and Aurora.  Also, I love the fact that Riana, Sariah, and Tierra get to do all the art projects, science projects, PE and music with a big group, and things that really overwhelmed me. Or they can take a reading/writing class, where someone else can help make it look fun! My kids love the friends they have made there, and I have even made some friends.  ;)  Our school has an open door policy, where you can walk into any classroom at any time. Also, it is different then a typical public school because there isn't the unsupervised time like recess, lunch, on the bus, etc. (Parents do have to be at the school the whole time, unless you trade off with another parent.) On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I teach the girls at home.  I am responsible to teach them Language, Math, and History.  Our school gives us $300 per kid, per year, to purchase this curriculum and then I report on what we are doing once a month through email/internet and a monthly meeting with our home room teacher.  We are really enjoying it!

My Girlie Girls
Thank goodness Aurora has such fun big sisters to paint her toe-nails!  Riana painted Aurora's toe-nails to match hers (plus added some nail stickers).  It was very cute!!  They even paint mine sometimes!  I know Heavenly Father knew I could learn a lot from having 5 daughters.  He knows me well!  LOL!  They fix my hair, paint my nails, make me jewelry, etc.  We are all learning how to be more girlie at our house!!  :)

Fun Times at Grandma and Grandpa's House
One fun thing about Grandma and Grandpa's House is all the yummy treasures you find in the backyard-- the trees, the garden, etc.  They have been getting quite a lot of incredibly yummy apples lately.  The girls really enjoyed picking them off and eating them.  Unforunately, as you can see from the middle picture, Sariah somehow ended up getting a poison apple and fainting like Snow White.  LOL!  There is also a picture of Aurora and Tierra playing the piano together.  My siblings and I all learned to play the piano on this piano, as did my Mom when she was a kid.  (Too bad I didn't get all three rows of the Grandkid's pictures on top of the piano-- kinda cute!)

Family Fun
1st picture) A family picnic at the park- one of our favorite ways to spend a sunny afternoon!
2nd picture) Our girls putting on a show for us-- so adorable!  (I totally remember putting on shows for my parents and friend's parents too!)
3rd picture) We are so nice that we let each of our kids have a pet-- 1 fish per girl!  ;)  We have actually kept these fish alive for almost 3 years now.  (Except Aurora's-- which we bought the month she was born.)

Riana's New Adventures
Riana went to a clogging workshop in September, with her dance friends and teacher.  Sariah and I met her at the end of the day, where they went swimming and then we all went out to dinner.  It was a lot of fun!

Also in September, Riana began learning to play the violin in Orchestra at a public school in our district (which starts Orchestra in 4th grade.)  We (the younger girls and I) just wait out the 1/2 hour in the car watching movies and reading stories.  The really neat thing about it, is that she happens to have the same Orchestra teacher that I had my 1st year of learning the violin.  Pretty neat!  She is really enjoying it!

Wow, you've been busy. I envy your canned peaches. My goal next summer is to learn to bottle them.
I would have to move if I had frogs all over!
You're a fun mom and it looks like your kids are having a great time growing up together.

I love all the pictures. The girls are beautiful! We sure miss hanging out with you all! No more homeschool fieldtrips or music lessons! What a bummer. The 5 girls and 5 boys were a perfect match! Have a great day.
